Simon Fraser University was established in 1965 as a Canadian public research university. As of 2011, the university comprises eight faculties spread across three campuses (Burnaby, Downtown Vancouver, and Surrey). The university was used as a film set for a number of films including The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008), and Underworld 4 (2012).
